Today while on patrol at one of our protected properties, Sgt. Wheeler was flagged down by a store manager about a thief who just took off with merchandise under his big coat.

Sgt. Wheeler chased him on foot and down a set of Railroad tracks that acts as a property line for the complex.

He was able to catch the shoplifter and recover the merchandise. While detaining the man, it was discovered he has two communicable diseases, so extra precautions had to be taken.

Once back at the office, we were unable to adequately identify him, so Columbus Police were called. It turned out he had an active felony warrant from an adjacent county and is on parole.

Needless to say this worked out well for everyone except the thief.

Today Lt. Likens and Officer Martin took it upon themselves to help out some less fortunate children in one of the apartment communities we serve. By taking their own money and purchasing some sports equipment for them. We could not be more proud of them. This just another example of our Officers going above and beyond the call of duty.
